Commercial Storyboarding

Professional commercial storyboarding services using stills, reference imagery, shot lists, and AI-assisted visualisation to ensure your video production stays on track and delivers results efficiently.

Overview

Modern storyboarding goes well beyond hand-drawn sketches. We use reference photography, location stills, shot lists, and AI-assisted image generation to build a clear visual plan before filming starts. That saves time and money on set, keeps everyone aligned, and surfaces problems before the cameras roll.

Based in Suffolk, we provide storyboarding for businesses and production teams across the UK. Depending on the project, that might be a full visual board with photographic references, or a detailed shot list with concept images. The board is a communication tool between client, director, and crew, so decisions are made before production costs climb.

Our storyboards cover shot descriptions, camera angles, movement notes, timing, reference imagery, and any special requirements. They become the roadmap for an efficient shoot day and a cleaner edit afterwards.

Client work

What this looks like in practice

At Rougham Estate, storyboarding and scripting are part of the ongoing monthly work, not a one-off extra. Before seasonal campaigns, website films, and social batches, we map the shots and narrative so filming days stay focused and the finished content matches the brief.

That regular rhythm means we know the locations, the businesses on the estate, and what tends to work on camera. New films still get planned properly; they just start from a shared understanding rather than a blank page every time.

Questions

Commercial Storyboarding FAQs

How do you use AI in storyboarding?

We use AI image generation to quickly create concept visuals for planned shots, particularly useful for visualising scenes, angles, or concepts before filming. This speeds up the planning process whilst providing clear visual references for everyone involved.

Do we need storyboarding for every video?

Not necessarily. Simple videos like talking head interviews may only need a shot list. Storyboarding becomes valuable for commercials, complex narratives, multiple locations, or when coordinating large crews where clear pre-planning saves significant time and money.

Can you photograph our actual locations for the storyboard?

Absolutely. Using actual location stills provides the most accurate visualisation for your production team. We can visit locations to photograph key areas, angles, and lighting conditions that will inform the final production.

Do you provide storyboarding for your own video projects?

Yes, for our own commercial video projects, we include storyboarding as part of pre-production when appropriate. It ensures client alignment and efficient filming. We also provide standalone storyboarding services for external production companies and agencies.
